Job Description:
Summary:
This position provides effective credit service with minimal errors
(as outlined in checklist), timely response to internal/external
customers with a high level of accuracy and efficiency. This
position is required to meet all company and departmental standards
and guidelines.
- Monitoring accounts on a daily basis, identifying outstanding
receivables and timely collections using statements and invoices,
as needed.
- Resolving past due balances and reconciliation issues,
including discrepancies and chargebacks, within our policy
guidelines which requires working with clients, then escalating to
internal departments for review and validation in a timely
manner
- Experience in credit risk including reviewing managing orders
pending release and whether orders can be released based on
historical data, Experian and conducting credit reviews (bank/trade
references).
- Processing credit card payments
- Prefer experience in construction and/or manufacturing
background.
- Proficient in Modules E and F, with some knowledge and
understanding at the G levels.
- Work in team environment to meet department goals for setting
up new accounts; accuracy guidelines; productivity standards and
supporting members who are backlogged.
- Express and work towards department and system improvements
(includes participation in company Method Improvement
Program).
- Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills to
effectively interface with coworkers, internal and external
domestic, international and branch-based customers to resolve
account concerns in a clear and positive manner.
- Possess excellent listening skills in order to apply
self-start, judgment, critical thinking and problem solving
techniques to effectively assess customer needs and resolve
concerns.
- Respond to all inquiries via phone, email and/or in person
within a timely manner and per department standards.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify when PIA & COD emails should be sent
- Handle customer concerns on incorrect billings and/or refund
requests
- Understanding credit policy/discounts and merchandise returns
and resolving debit memos
- Assign specific locations for work in process; ensure work is
accessible to other team members during an absence
- Respond to customer inquiries on debit/credit memos
- Understand A/R applications and adjustment sheets
- Support and represent the department in a professional
manner.
- Bring problems to supervisor's attention prior to involving
other department's managers or supervisors. Inform supervisor
and/or team leader when workload prevents standards from being
met.
- Develop a personal and/or career growth and training program
with department manager.
- Present concerns in a problem-solving manner.
- Have good knowledge of department Credit Policies and
Procedures. QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc.).
Preferably intermediate level.
- Two-Three years credit/collections experience
- Prefer experience in construction and/or manufacturing
background.
- Ability to understand and apply basic accounting
principles.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate both orally
and in writing
- Must be able to deal tactfully with customers and their
representatives.
- Knowledge of the collection process, invoicing and payment
applications a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, which also
requires multi-tasking, responding to internal/external clients
same day and shifting priorities as needed.
- Ability to work independently with minimal, routine direction
as well as working in a team environment
- Must be able to use judgment and decision making skills in
resolving customer concerns.
- Must be able to work to time sensitive deadlines a majority of
the time.
Pay: $29.74 - $37.17 per hour
