GBL Systems is a leading system engineering and software
development firm located in Camarillo, CA, with a 30-year history
of developing tomorrow's Electronic Warfare capability today. GBL
specializes in the areas of Systems and Software Engineering,
Electronic Warfare, Network Centric Warfare, Modeling/ Simulation
and Avionics Development.
As part of a dynamic team, GBL Engineers contribute to all aspects
of the software development process, which includes requirements
definition, design, development, test and evaluation, acquisition,
and in-service support to various US and Foreign Military
customers. Qualified candidates should have a working level of
understanding of software development, unit testing, peer reviews
and configuration management. Successful applicants should have the
ability to work effectively and cooperatively in an embedded
government/contractor team environment. Qualified candidates must
be self-starters with the ability to work independently without
close supervision. Applicants should exhibit excellent
interpersonal and oral/written communications skills. Ideal
candidates will be expected to mentor junior engineers and
influence the structure of an established dynamic team.
Qualified applicants must be U.S. Citizens. Current active SECRET
clearance is required.
Must have conducted research into fundamental computer and
information science as a theorist,
designer, or inventor. Must have experience in the development of
solutions to problems in the field of computer hardware and
software, systems design, test and evaluation (T&E), leading
teams on the design, development, and integration of complex
hardware / software systems.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Perform as a lead technologist for the Government including
development of science and technology needs, gaps, and roadmaps and
corresponding acquisition documents to support the DoD research
development test and evaluation (RDT&E) community.
Development of Test Technology Area (TTA) programmatic
documentation and present at Program Execution Reviews.
Perform program studies and analyses, set up and attend workshop
conferences and meetings, write and present option papers, provide
program planning, perform document review, prepare presentations
and marketing materials, and provide risk assessments.
Development of a methodology to assess current T&E technology
area shortfalls, recommend formats for project submissions via use
cases, define an automated evaluation methodology, and track
approved projects per use case defined capabilities and funding and
schedule constraints.
Lead for establishing a technology insertion environment/laboratory
to assess new testing technologies being developed by industry and
academia.
Perform trade studies that define the current state of technologies
supporting the RDT&E community in order to perform a gap
assessment to define topic areas for new advances to the current
state of the art.
Familiarity with big data analytic technologies and their ability
to revolutionize the way test data is evaluated.
Lead and manage workforce of up to 10 personnel including systems
and software engineers.
Direct interface with customers, various Government organizations,
and Industry/Government conference presentations.
Requirements:
Has a MS Degree and a minimum of 15 years' experience as a subject
matter expert in a technical labor category
Past experience typically working on high-visibility or mission
critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional
duties independently.
Past experience with conducting research into fundamental computer
and information science as a theorist, designer, or inventor.
Subject matter expertise with the DoD test and evaluation
methodologies to support development of warfighter systems.
Past experience in supporting business development through proposal
generation efforts.
Professional written and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple milestones and projects
efficiently.
Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize project
tasking for the best possible outcome.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment to
create top-performing products.

GBL is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
Salary Range: $146,739 USD to $185,000 USD. Salary is based on
current qualifications, related experience, and contractual
requirements which could fall outside of this range.
