OverviewExact Science's Customer Experience (CX) team is
responsible for defining, driving, and delivering innovative,
immersive, memorable customer-centric journeys for all our
customers, across all channels (digital and physical). These
journeys are grouped by Customer Types (e.g., Patient, Provider)
and further categorized into a set of Experiences (e.g., Understand
Risks & Complete Screening, Confirm Diagnosis). Each Experience has
a set of specific, measurable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
that the overall team is accountable to fulfill.The Manager, UX
Designer is responsible for helping to drive and facilitate the
realization of the UX strategy and vision for multiple journeys
within a given Experience. Your focus lies in shaping innovative
design solutions, rooted in a deep understanding of the industry
landscape, business and enabling technologies, as well as a
profound, and an empathetic immersion into consumer mindsets,
needs, and expectations.Collaborating with diverse teams, including
Designers, Copywriters, Content Strategists, Product partners, and
Development partners, you'll lead efforts in digital, marketing,
and product design, emphasizing interaction design, visual design,
design technology, and product management. Your role extends from
defining interactions at various scales to overseeing the
development of large, complex services and systems across owned,
social, and partner digital platforms.You excel in balancing the
macro and micro aspects of design-driving a vision while remaining
hands-on with the details. Your approach involves continuous
analysis, iteration, solutioning, and delivery, maintaining a focus
on the user at the center of everything you create.As the lead,
your responsibility includes bringing people together and
accounting for a holistic Service Design that covers all
touchpoints in a customer's journey, whether physical or digital.
Your role involves navigating complex business, functional, and
user challenges to drive the development of innovative experiences
aligned with overall business and user objectives. Your expertise
extends to delivering intricate design systems and frameworks,
providing easily understood, scalable solutions that inspire and
empower junior designers to excel.You should be able to share
examples of work that highlights your approach to design. This
should demonstrate how you bring strategies to life in the creation
of user-centered products and services experiences across various
channels. Additionally, you should be able to provide instances
where your work effectively communicated complex ideas and
terminology through simple, engaging content experiences,
ultimately driving positive business results.Essential
DutiesInclude, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead and facilitate active collaboration with strategists,
researchers, product leaders, the Design Ops team, legal,
regulatory, medical, labs, and the respective Experience Design
team members to produce deliverables (e.g., wireframes, visual
systems, interaction models, design specs, etc.) for multiple
Journeys (e.g. 3+) in a given experience that are integrated,
cross-touchpoint, cross-customer type, and
cross-experience/journey.
- Advocate for the incorporation of user research into the
experience's UX vision, provide strategic rigor and thoughtfulness
throughout the creation of products and experiences, from vision
and conception to launch and optimization/governance - possess the
knowledge and passion to articulate it clearly, confidently,
concisely, and compellingly across audiences.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert in all things design and help
lead both partners and peers alike to help think how design drives
utility and inspires, equally.
- Remove impediments and ensure delivery of the overall
experience vision & OKRs. Building and maintaining collaborative
relationships with senior leadership and other departments (e.g.,
Marketing) will also be required.
- Research and stay up-to-date to help lead the adaption of the
enterprise wide UX best practices, standards, principles, and
design thinking processes for use by the respective UX, Product,
and Development teams; serve as an advocate for these standards,
principles, processes.
- Create systems and strategies that help designers thrive. Lead
the use of design thinking, storytelling, and conceptual prototypes
to compellingly convey the vision, flow, and features of the
products/services being designed.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support for more junior
content staff. Execute and help guide teams to create outstanding,
cohesive, and connected experiences across projects and platforms.
Help develop comprehensive experiences by applying strategic
design-thinking methodologies by providing a clear point-of-view,
approach, and framework that guides effective design and
implementation.

- Help support the writing, editing, and testing of content, and
lead its improvement that makes our products and experiences easier
to use across Exact Sciences products and experiences.

- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel 10-20% of working time
away from work location, may include overnight/weekend
travel.Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Marketing, Business, Life
Sciences, or related field of study; or High School Degree/General
Education Diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience as outlined
in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
- 8+ years of experience working as a UX Designer, with at least
5 years experience.
- Extensive experience in applying techniques and methods of
modern user experience design, discovery, and delivery - along with
expertise with design/user experience platforms and tools (e.g.,
Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Miro, Jira).
- Experience with content management systems (Sitecore a plus)
and user testing tools.
- Experience in simplifying and communicating complex ideas to
broad audiences.
- Experience in managing a design process from strategy to
delivery of final product.
- Experience in collaborating with and influencing product,
engineering, design, and operational teams.
- Experience in creating designs that optimize for varied
ecosystems that leverage known persona or archetypal work, SEO, and
measurement objectives.
- Advanced understanding of accessible, inclusive, and equitable
design.
- Experience with the principles of Agile/Scrum/Kanban.
- Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Adobe
Creative Suite applications, and associated design tools.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of the current web and mobile
technology landscape.
- Advanced understanding of human centered design and design
thinking methodologies.
- Experience creating accessible, inclusive, and equitable
design.
- Knowledge of best-in-class design systems (Material, Carbon,
Fluent, etc) and their pros and cons. Experience in
evolving/adapting design systems or building them from
scratch.
- Extensive experience problem-solving, organizational, and
analytical skills with the ability to evolve UX strategy based on
research, data, and industry trends.
- Strong analysis skills; including, but not limited to, process
and user flow definition.
- Extensive experience in translating complex user, business,
operational, and technical requirements into clear, accurate,
compelling user experience deliverables.
- Experience in relationship building, motivation, and curiosity
to bring together different personalities for creative thinking and
collaborative solutioning.
- Extensive experience engaging with strategists, product
managers, engineers, researchers, SMEs, and company leaders in a
constructive and collaborative relationship where you can both
learn and influence.
- Experience recruiting, coordinating, developing, and managing a
team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the
ability to agilely adapt to the respective audience (team member to
senior leadership).
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a
proactive and logical approach to workload and ability to work both
independently and within a team.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the

frameworks.#LI-CB1Salary Range:$109,000.00 - $174,000.00 -The
annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI -
Madison on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In
addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be
considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.Exact
