Supervisor:Sr. Project Manager Classification:Full -time, exempt
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the financial and
contractual success of their portfolio of projects. They own each
project from contract signing until it is turned over to O&M.
The PM is the primary contact and the hub of all communications
involving the project. They manage the schedule, cost management,
procurement, job set up, and close out. Working closely with the
Design Engineer, Construction Manager, and General Foreman, they
support safety, quality, and site efficiency.This is a hybrid
position, with the ratio of office/remote work determined by
operational demands. You must currently reside in San Diego or
Riverside Counties. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES Business
Objectives- Ensure that the project supports all company goals such
as timely revenue, gross margins, and customer satisfaction.
Billing- Continuously track project portfolio billing schedule.
Report through the Sage Intact ERP Platform. Costs and Margins-
Track budget to actuals to protect margins and identify potential
change orders. Initiate and negotiate COs when needed. Risk- Keep
Director of Project Management informed of any threats to project
objectives. ProjectBudgetandLaborTracking - Weekly meetings with
Construction Director and COO to review man hours, billing
projections, P/L, upcoming manpower needs, WIP, etc. Billing and
Collections- Submit timely trial SOVs/invoices to clients to get
approval prior to billing. Instruct CAS on what to invoice for each
Billing Period and follow up (as requested by AR Collections) to
obtain on-time payment. Contract Deliverables- Fully understand the
contract documents and any other customer agreements and fulfill
all requirements at or above expectations. Scheduling- Build and
maintain a project schedule showing all critical events in the
project. Project Coordination- Coordinate with all GCs to ensure
critical path construction activities are mobilized in a timely
manner and in conjunction with other trades. Ensure that all work
on each jobsite is completed in accordance with the overall project
scope and schedule. Subcontracting - Negotiate and contract with
subcontractors, as needed, for labor compliance and scope of work
requirements. Procurement - Order appropriate Materials and
Equipment for projects per the PMO-CM Matrix. Review all orders to
ensure accuracy and within budget. Installation Efficiency - Cost
per Watt OR per Sq Ft-Actively engage in month-to-month monitoring
of the installation cost per watt (or Sq Ft for solar hot water) as
well as the number of man hours per module and actively identify
measures to reduce these costs where practical and so long as it
does not conflict with safety or installation quality. Discuss at
recurring operations meetings in consultation with the COO &
Construction Director. ACTIVITIES TO PROMOTE THE ABOVE ROLES &
RESBONSIBILITIES After-Action Reports Document any issues
experienced on specific jobs to provide a feedback loop to the
engineering and design portions of the operations team. Schedule
Project Kickoff, Design Review and Pre-Mobilization Meetings
Schedule meetings as established in SOPs. Initially within two
weeks of being assigned a new Job Project Kickoff. When the Design
Engineer indicates the Design is ready for review and prior to
Submittal to AHJ Design Review Meeting and minimum of one week in
advance of mobilization Design Review Meeting. Client Meetings PM
should conduct routine meetings with client and project team to
maintain alignment and communication. TEAM BUILDING & CULTURE
Embody and promote the Cal Solar core values and demonstrate those
values in interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
Foster open communication, team building, and sharing of best
practices amongst all employees, to help create a continuous
learning environment that drives team knowledge & preparedness.
Continually evaluate construction processes, finding new means and
methods of construction (out-of-the-box thinking) & share best
practices to help increase safety, profitability, quality,
efficiency, etc. that can be captured within Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs). Encourage employees to take an active role and
be accountable for their career growth. Oversee the training and
development of all direct reports through the performance planning
process and maintaining1:1 meetings/check-ins, coordinating with
the HR team to help identify available LMS courses and/or develop
new training courses that may assist in their professional and
personal development. Establish and maintain good working
relationships with governing agencies, inspectors, owners, GCs, and
other subcontractors. Support efforts to recruit and hire employees

Qualifications & Required Skills/Abilities Four-year college degree
and/or equivalent work experience desirable. Currently reside in
San Diego/Riverside Counties. Experience project managing
commercial/industrial solar construction projects, and
supervising/managing subcontractors. Strong understanding of the
NEC (wire sizing, equipment ratings, installation requirements,
etc.), NFPA 70E electrical safety guidelines, and plumbing code,
with ability to reference these codes as required. Working
knowledge of Uniform Building Code (UBC) and building
materials/techniques. Strong understanding of grid-tied PV, solar
domestic hot water, piping systems, pumped fluid circuits, and
closed-loop heating systems. Ability to read, understand,
problem-solve, implement site-redesign, and mark-up (redline)
electrical, plumbing, and structural plans. Experience working
directly with city/county permitting offices and inspectors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to
communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills/mindset. Excellent
organizational, attention to detail, analytical/problem-solving,
time management and decision-making skills. Possess a positive
attitude, ability to work independently, show initiative, and
operate with a sense of urgency. Excellent time management skills -
ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, delegate, and
supportmultiple projects in various stages of preconstruction &
construction. Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the
ability to effectively train, motivate, and hold others
accountable. Strong experience with Dropbox, SCOOP, Sage Intact
Accounting, or similar software. Ability to work extended hours to
setup projects & field crews for optimal/efficient execution daily.

for this role is between USD $115K - $125K. The actual base is
dependent upon many factors, such as: location, training,
