Job Description:

Under limited supervision, the Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer uses acquired Electrical Engineering skills to work closely with design and project engineers in the development of: Design for Test; Test Procedures; Test Processes; and Test Fixtures that are comprehensive, efficient and reliable in the effort to maximize efficiency and increase the test yield at the system level.

Essential Functions:

  • Works with Engineering in developing the appropriate design for test methodology for new products.
  • Develop and validate Automated Test Programs and Test Fixtures, as well as leading the selection of suitable test equipment for the manufacturing test process.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Failure Review Board team in reviewing test failure data and developing methods to continually reduce and eliminate test escapes.
  • Write detailed test procedures needed for manufacturing test.
  • Provide training and guidance to manufacturing test group on proper use of test equipment and/or fixtures.
  • Provide estimates of labor and material required to satisfy proposal and contract requirements.
  • Lead a test team as needed to accomplish large qualification tasks.
  • Perform trouble shooting, rework and/or repair failed test equipments and/or electronic assemblies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
    • Experience in high power applications.
    • Knowledge in writing and/or creating LabVIEW or equivalent test software for Automated Test Equipment.
    • Proficient in the design of electrical and electronic circuits (analog & digital) for application in Test Fixture design.
    • Knowledge of drawings, parts lists, engineering orders, wiring lists, diagrams, schematics and repair procedures are required.
    • Extensive knowledge of related test equipment used to test power and digital systems.
    • Demonstrated skill in preparation of test procedures, troubleshooting complex electronic systems, and related test engineering tasks to ensure product's performance meets customer requirements.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • BSEE preferred.
      • DoD contractor test experience desired.

        LANGUAGE SKILLS

        Ability to read and interpret English language documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

        MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

        Ability to perform mathematical analysis of complex electrical and electronic circuits. Ability to apply mathematical principles of circuit theory to the design of complex electrical and electronic test fixtures.

        REASONING ABILITY

        Ability to perform comprehensive logical analysis of complex circuits, systems and processes to create solutions to manufacturing and Test Engineering challenges. Ability to reduce complex issues to create logical, understandable instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to understand technical documentation and apply to real-world scenarios. Ability to recognize and report any unsafe working conditions. Ability to solve problems involving multiple competing priorities.

        While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate though at time may require the use of hearing protection.

        The employee will be exposed to electrical power generating equipment, both static and rotating as well as motor driven and diesel engine/turbine engine driven generators.

        In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $75,500.00 - $140,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
