Accounting Manager While embracing all company core values, this position is responsible for maintaining GAAP and IFRS compliance to ensure accurate and timely generation of consolidated company financial statements. In this role, you will ensure implementation and adoption of all appropriate and required policies, procedures, and best practices within the accounting and finance function across Arlons businesses. In addition, while working closely with the Controller on all critical accounting and financial matters, this role is responsible for management of the Accounting team (3 direct reports) with responsibility for ensuring their work is properly allocated and accurately and timely completed in accordance with business objectives. This position includes tight deadlines and with responsibility for all accounting activities including general ledger validation, financial reporting, audit requirements and support annual planning activities. Core Responsibilities and Duties:Treasury, Risk Management, Audit, TaxMaintain integrity of the G/L and accuracy of balance sheet and all related financial statements of the company at all times.Maintain CPA license. Obtain CMA. Complete continuing education in related financial areas or that provides best practices solutions. Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger accounting principles and standard practices. Stay current on GAAP and IFRS standards.Governance - Strengthen internal controls, identify control and policy requirements and implement throughout treasury and accounting space - Identify internal control deficiencies, initiate proposed changes with appropriate department managers to include updates to procedures. Play key role in managing the day-to-day cash projections including but not limited to approval of ACH, Wires and approval of vendor checks.Ensure clean fiscal audit. Lead the quarterly and annual financial audit, meet deadlines as requested and agreed upon with external audit firm and Controller.Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in support of all regional business tax filings (work with local tax contractors / consultants to ensure such). Reporting/Month EndPerform detail review of moderate to highly complex account reconciliations and journal entries.Ensure integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and all financial reports. Maintain best in class closing cycle and financial statements with accuracy. Drive towards continuous close cycle throughout the month.Ensure the timely reporting of all internal and external financial statements.Create ad-hoc sales and margin reports as needed to support the (CLT) Commercial Leadership Team. Partner with Controller and budget owners towards improved annual budget cycle.Responds to inquiries from the Controller and Leadership Team and Managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests in a timely manner.Proactively monitor accounting transactions, identify large fluctuations, conduct analysis and communicate to appropriate managers.LeadershipLead accounting team (three currently)Collaborates with Controller to support overall department goals and objectives.Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.Provide training opportunities to new and existing staff as needed.Work closely with Controller/HR when handling personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues and talent development.Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advice on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.Ensure ongoing finance team partnership between accountants and budget owners.Develop, monitor and measure service level agreements with all organizational business partners. Budget & ForecastingProactively provide insight and recommendations to budget managers to ensure continued alignment with the budget utilizing forecast tools.Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly financial forecast. Identify continuous improvement opportunities, reduce process time and document procedures to enhance the workflow.Support weekly forecasting and monthly close functions by conducting reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts to include inventory, cash and reserves.Develop and review business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for company wide initiatives when required.ComplianceEnsure all deadline are met during the fiscal year.Ensure appropriate global financial policies and procedures are in placOtherAdvise Controller regarding the handling of non-routine accounting transactions.Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.Implement weekly bank reconciliation. Financial partner to support regional leaders as needed to support business. Leverage opportunities to improve DSO and DPO to optimize cash flow and support business objectives.Other duties and projects as deemed necessary. Person Description:Required Education & ExperienceCPA required.Bachelors Degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance or Economics. 7 plus years of experience in a manufacturing Accounting and Finance environment is required.SAP knowledge at an advanced level is required.Big 4/National/Mid-Size Accounting firm experience within manufacturing is preferredMinimum SME in SAP FICO with ability to drill down to all business transactions and trace to general ledger required.Experience in the implementation of an ERP system is a solid plus.Must have month end closing and auditing experience. Must have strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and Internal Controls.Must have solid knowledge of sales order processing to general ledger and purchase order processing to general ledger along with internal controls to risk manage the business.Working knowledge of SAP data management, ability to identify and extract data required to conduct analysis and reporting. Financial reporting, consolidation and allocation experience required.Advanced Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, lookup tables, advanced what if statements.Ability to create and communicate leadership level summary reports with supporting analysis.SAP COPA, Business Intelligence and Host Analytics Financial software experience are a plus.
