The Controller will lead the Accounting & Finance department in a busy multinational manufacturing company ensuring the timely generation of consolidated company financial statements. Ensuring GAAP compliance, this position will be manage the preparation and consolidation of financials for multiple global entities, revenue accounting, cost accounting, consolidations, AP, AR, fixed assets, general ledger, tax, payroll and treasury. You will have tight deadlines and responsibility for all accounting activities including general ledger validation, financial reporting, audit requirements and support annual planning activities. Success in this position will be defined as driving a timely and accurate close as well as assessing the function and making improvements. The Controller will develop, improve and document processes to drive towards a best-in-class accounting department and a reduced close timeline. This role is responsible for management of the Accounting team (up to 6 direct reports) with responsibility for ensuring their work is properly allocated and accurately and timely completed in accordance with business objectives.

Requirements:
Accounting and Month-end CloseEnsure timely financial close and reporting. Manage and oversee the month end process, including initiatives to reduce close timeline.Review journal entries, certain accounts payable coding and purchase requisitionsReview financial statements, P&L detail and supporting schedules to ensure financial accuracy.Oversee SAP administration for the accounting function, including opening/closing periods, running and managing scheduled jobs, overseeing and testing of improvements to SAP that relate to the accounting process.Strengthen internal controls; Identify potential internal control deficiencies, initiate proposed changes with appropriate department managers to include updates to procedures.Ensure clean and timely financial audit. Lead the interim and annual financial audit and coordinate resources appropriately.Review revenue and cost accounting, including standard costs, manufacturing variances, revenue recognition, and inventory write-offs.Review bank reconciliations, drive further automation in the banking/reconciliation process.Assist finance in reporting monthly results to executive team and departmental owners.ConsolidationsOversee consolidation in Adaptive Insights/Workday.Review statutory to US GAAP conversion for China and other small sales entities/branches.Ensure GLs are uploaded correctly, managing job from SAP and manual uploads from other entities.Make sure all intercompany accounting, including eliminations, are done properly.Tax, Treasury, and ComplianceEnsure timely and accurate filings of foreign, state, and local taxes, working with local accounting firms and service providers.Maintain compliance with transfer pricing, including supporting transfer pricing provider when setting up reports and oversee transfer pricing between entities.Ensure appropriate global financial policies and procedures are in place.Review and approve payments and help manage cash between accounts.OtherCollaborates with the Director to support overall department goals and objectives.Provides direct local support to the Executive Team including the President and CEO.Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.Developing the careers of key team members to provide rewarding career paths and interesting work. Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff, manage team performance.Advise the Director regarding the handling of non-routine accounting transactions.Leverage opportunities to improve DSO and DPO to optimize cash flow and support business objectives.Be a backup on key Director activities as needed.Other duties and projects as deemed necessary.Skills & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in financial/relevant discipline and Masters in relevant field required.Previous experience in a similar role within a global manufacturing company.Financial consolidation experience for multiple global entities required.Up to 8 years' proven experience as a leader in F&A function with proven people management and development experience.SAP knowledge at an advanced level, SME in SAP FICO with ability to navigate the system proficiently.Must have strong knowledge of GAAP and Internal Controls.Must have solid knowledge of overall business processes, including order to cash and procure to pay.Preferred Skills & ExperienceM&A experience preferred.Active CPA/CMA preferred.Big 4/Tier 2 experience within manufacturing is preferredKnowledge of Adaptive Insights/Workday (consolidations) and PowerBI (business intelligence) or similar applications a plus.Advanced Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, lookup tables, nested formulas, and modeling.Ability to create and communicate leadership level summary reports with supporting analysis.Languages skills a plus, Dutch or Chinese a distinct advantage.Person AttributesMust embody the Arlon core values of Teamwork, Excellence, Accountability, Integrity and Inspiration.Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality, ethics and integrity.Ability to manage multiple deadlines and issues simultaneously.Inherited strong analytical and problem solving skills.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.Proven decision making experience, ability to work without daily supervision and be autonomous.Be reliable, responsive, timely and courteous.Flexible hours as needed (after hours and weekend work).Self-motivated with passion towards making a difference, continuous improvement, streamlining touches, achieving personal and team goals and working closely with all members of the Finance and Accounting team.
