overall management of the finance department and oversight of staff
development. Will assist in monitoring various hospital internal
controls in conjunction with ACFO on an ongoing basis.
Responsibilities include oversight of monthly financial close
process, completion of various financial reporting and development
of hospital forecasts/budget in collaboration with ACFO. This
position will demonstrate expertise with various computer
applications and be viewed as a resource to others within the
hospital. The Controller provides administrative direction and
coordination of the finance function for hospital operations and
oversees the overall budget process for the facility, as well as
directs long-range strategic financial planning and all aspects of
the Capital Management Cycle. In addition, the Controller is
accountable for accounts receivable reserve and revenue recognition
policies, coordinate capital allocation and forecasting process,
oversee operating and capital budget process and consolidate
Hospital Business Plan. Additionally, the Controller serves primary
responsibilities blended in financial analytics and general
accounting. This role will be responsible for providing strategic
steering and execution by analyzing operational volumes, expense &
service utilization, and the competitive position in the market for
planning. The position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of
the data components outputted from these tools to ensure accurate
recommendations with action plans for Service Line Margin
Management and Labor Productivity.
Qualifications:
Controller candidates need to have a minimum of seven years of
progressive healthcare services industry finance experience to
include solid experience with AR/AP, fixed assets, property tax
reporting, cost accounting, and auditing. It is also important that
the candidate has an ability to prioritize work, demonstrated
success in building value within an ethical manner and achieving
financial expectations. Additionally, substantial financial
management experience including financial operations, strategic and
financial planning, contracts, reimbursement, budgeting and capital
financing in a complex environment. A Bachelor s degree in Finance
or Accounting is strongly preferred. An MBA, MHA and/or CPA
designation preferred. Demonstrates strong communication skills.
Can work in team based environments. Exercises good judgment in
prioritizing projects. Ability to implement corrective action.
Takes a positive approach to change. Can generate solutions to
problematic situations. Proficiency in word and excel preferred.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements. Strong analytical skills.
Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field preferred.
Progressive experience in hospital accounting/finance preferred.
